For the small and self-licensed practices
For small and self-licensed practices
A small practice carries the same obligations as a large one with a fraction of the administration. Souffle puts the client record, the fact find, the work between meetings and the client's own portal in one system, under your own licence details and brand.
What small and self-licensed practices get from Souffle
Your licence details, whoever holds the licence
The organisation profile holds your company name, AFSL name and licence name, address, contact details, website, social links and logo. It works the same whether the practice holds its own Australian Financial Services Licence or operates as an authorised representative of a licensee — you enter the licence you advise under, and it carries through to the client portal and the onboarding form.
A team of any size, each with the right access
Team members are added one at a time with the privilege their role needs: account owner, financial adviser, paraplanner, research manager, admin assistant or administrator. Each carries an hourly rate and a cost rate, an account code and an email signature, and can be archived when they leave. A practice of two runs the same adviser portal as a practice of twenty.
Work that stays visible when everyone does several jobs
In a small practice the adviser is often also the paraplanner and the administrator. Tasks carry assignees, priorities, due dates, reminders, recurrence and subtasks, and kanban boards run from reusable workflow templates, so a repeated process — a new client, an annual review — is set up once and followed each time rather than remembered.
Clients who help with the data entry
The branded onboarding form collects personal details, assets, income, liabilities, expenses, protection and goals before the first meeting, with a completion percentage on the lead. After they become clients, the portal lets them add their own entries against each area, complete questionnaires and read shared documents, so the fact find does not depend on the practice re-keying it.
SMSFs, trusts and companies without a second system
Many small practices grew out of accounting or SMSF work. SMSFs, trusts, companies and partnerships are each first-class records with their own financial position, corporate trustee and director details, linked back to the individual client — and each imports in bulk from CSV alongside individual clients and leads.
What to check before you commit
Souffle does not generate Statements of Advice, take platform data feeds, compare products or connect to an e-signature service. A small practice that produces its own advice documents in Word and holds its research elsewhere can run on Souffle today; one that needs those four things inside the same system should say so at the demo, so the answer about fit is a straight one.
