Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about what the platform does today — including the things it does not do yet.
Australian financial advice practices. It supports the roles a practice actually runs — account owner, financial adviser, paraplanner, research manager and admin assistant — each with their own privileges, rates and task assignments.
Yes. Alongside individual clients, Souffle holds SMSF, trust, company and partnership entities. Each has its own record and financial position, and SMSFs add contributions, investments, assets, liabilities, income and expenses dashboards, plus corporate trustee details.
Yes. The branded onboarding form collects lead details ahead of the meeting. You decide which sections are visible and required — personal details, assets, income, liabilities, expenses, protection policies, and goals and objectives — and the lead record shows a completion percentage.
Basic investment modelling and superannuation modelling, both with generated projections. Assumptions are set at practice level: AWOTE, CPI, contribution percentage and retirement age for superannuation, plus CPI and interest rate as economic variables. Investor profiles define investment strategy, growth and defensive asset allocation, franking rate, income rate and growth rate.
Fifteen dedicated calculators — stamp duty, land tax, income tax, debt recycling, SMSF property purchase, simple mortgage, mortgage with extra payment, car loan repayment, property, compound interest, present value, annualised return, investment time, break-even point and markup — alongside a general calculation tool.
The advice relationship record on each client holds review frequency, next review, previous reviews, the date the last SoA or RoA was provided, adviser service fee arrangements, services promised versus services delivered, and legacy fee disclosure statement and opt-in date fields.
Yes, and it carries your branding. Clients sign in to see a dashboard, their financial information, documents and files, complete questionnaires, view payments, manage their profile and contact their adviser.
Every API endpoint is private and requires an API key, requests pass a JWT Lambda authoriser, passwords are hashed with bcrypt, and tokens are revoked on logout. Services run on AWS Lambda and API Gateway in the ap-southeast-2 Sydney region, with files in dedicated S3 buckets and isolated environments for development, testing and production.
Yes. Clients, leads, individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and SMSFs can each be created individually or imported in bulk from CSV.
Souffle is Australian advice practice software covering client and lead records, fact find and financial position, SMSF, trust, company and partnership entities, appointments, tasks and workflow boards, modelling, document templates and a branded client portal. Practices moving from Xplan or another suite bring clients, leads and entities across by CSV; there is no direct connector. What Souffle does not do that a full suite does — generate Statements of Advice, take platform data feeds or compare products — is set out plainly on the Xplan alternative page, so you can judge the fit before a demo.
Not today. Souffle records the date and type of the last SoA or RoA provided against each advice relationship, and its digital document builder assembles documents from reusable content blocks alongside Word and PDF templates. It does not merge client data into an advice document or produce an SoA automatically. If advice document generation is essential to your practice now, say so when you book a demo so we can be clear about fit.
No. Souffle has no AI note-taker and no AI-drafted advice text. What it automates is structural: the pre-meeting fact find collected through a branded form, recurring tasks and reminders, reusable workflow templates, document and email templates, bulk CSV import and bulk email.
Souffle does not currently offer third-party financial integrations such as platform data feeds, Xero, DocuSign or calendar sync. Client data comes in by CSV import, through the branded onboarding form and through the client portal. Appointments can be labelled Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams or in person, but the meeting link is not created for you. The market data pages draw ASX and exchange-rate figures from third-party feeds. Treat any integration your practice relies on as a question to settle in the demo.
Pricing is quoted per practice after a demo, so the quote reflects your team and the way you work, and it is not published on this site. Souffle is licensed by subscription. Do not rely on a figure quoted anywhere else; ask us directly.
Yes. The organisation profile holds your own AFSL name and licence name, whether you hold the licence yourself or operate as an authorised representative, and each team member is added with the privilege their role needs — account owner, financial adviser, paraplanner, research manager, admin assistant or administrator. A practice of one or two people runs the same adviser portal, client portal and onboarding form as a larger one.
Souffle holds investor profiles — a named investment strategy with its growth and defensive allocation and its franking, income and growth rates — which are applied in modelling. It does not score a risk-tolerance questionnaire automatically. The questionnaire builder can issue a risk questionnaire to a client, but matching the answers to a profile is a judgement the adviser records.
Souffle captures a drawn signature on screen for documents that need signing. It does not connect to an e-signature service such as DocuSign or Annature, and it does not produce a signing audit certificate. If your licensee requires certified e-signature, plan for a separate service.
All of them. Souffle uses the Australian spelling adviser, as ASIC's Financial Advisers Register does, and the roles it recognises are account owner, financial adviser, paraplanner, research manager, admin assistant and administrator. If you searched for financial advisor software or financial planning software, this is the same product.
